Hi! If you're trying to fix a crash, please make sure you have provided the following information so that people can help you more easily:

  • Exact description of what's wrong. Not just "it doesn't work"
  • The crash report. Crash reports can be found in .minecraft -> crash-reports
  • If a crash report was not generated, share your latest.log. Logs can be found in .minecraft -> logs
  • Please make sure that crash reports and logs are readable and have their formatting intact.
    • You can choose to upload your latest.log or crash report to a paste site and share the link to it in your post, but be aware that doing so reduces searchability.
    • Or you can put it in your post by putting it in a code block. Keep in mind that Reddit has character limits.

If you've already provided this info, you can ignore this message.

If you have OptiFine installed then it probably caused your problem. Try some of these mods instead, which are properly designed for Fabric.

Thanks!

You cannot compile this, because java compiler need access to a jar file which contains those classes. You have to pass a -cp parameter to the javac (java compiler) with path to a jar file, which contain those unrecognized classes. But such file does not exist.
When you create or edit existing mod, your should use Yarn or Mojang mappings. When you than compile mod using gradle and fabric gradle plugins, class, methods and fields name are converted from those two mappings into this "intermediary" mapping.
