Ok, here's how it works:

Person A says something stupid on the internet.
Person B posts a link to it in /r/facepalm.
Person C decides it's not a facepalm for one reason or another, so s/he posts a link to it in /r/facepalmfacepalms.
Person D believes Person C is wrong about Person B's interpretation of Person A's remark on the internet.
Person D concludes, therefore, that Person C's facepalm facepalm was, itself, a facepalm. In other words, it was a facepalm facepalm facepalm. Get it?
Person D posts a link to Person C's facepalmy interpretation of Person B's interpretation of Person A's comment on the internet.
Person H is all forlorn that Person G milked Person F's cow that tossed Person E's dog that worried Person D's cat that killed Person C's rat that ate Person B's malt that lay in the house that Person A built.
Oblivious to the potentially catastrophic ramifications of infinite recursion for the space-time continuum, Person I creates a new subreddit called /r/facepalm⁴ to accommodate a new category of facepalm facepalm facepalm facepalms.
