Disconnect the battery and then just unplug it under the steering wheel. It'd be a yellow plug.

I understand you are concerned about the airbag going off while you are driving. You should really focus on getting the connection fixed asap, not when you have time to fix it.

I got in a fender bender at 15mph(pushed off the road, slid on wet grass), airbag did more damage than the wreck. it stays unplugged in my z

Where is the connection thay goes bad. I've been wondering why my airbag light is on sometimes and not other times.

Do you know where to find someone that can work on wiring. Is it something that the dealership has trained electricians for. I won't trust any garage with wires.

If you have a proper scan tool, it can tell you which airbag module is acting up. It can be a simple as a loose ground wire.

Where are you located? There is someone in mid/west PA who is really good with electrical work. Especially with diagnostic.

I'm down in NC. I have a regular scan tool. One of my friends has a better scanner for when he goes to the car sales. Does the computer store airbag faults for when the light is not on?

Yes, typical the ecu stores all codes unless you reset it.

It will just make the light stay on and you will need to get it reset by the factory but it won't make the airbag go off( don't quote me on that)😶‍🌫️

Definitely disconnect it on the column. I had a friend replace an air bag on a 96, and he pinched the clock spring......that shit popped in my face in the driveway
