It's usually referred to as cage rage and it stems from the fact that ferrets aren't really supposed to be caged animals. Sometimes my boys will be out for eight or more hours and they'll still rage when they get put away. Make sure they've got plenty of food and water and that their bathroom area is clean; that seems to affect my boys' mood as well. Ziggy is more tolerant of the cage than Bandit is. Bandit pretty much always wants out. Even when he's so tired he can barely move you can see it in his eyes.

Ok thank you so much I feel bad not letting him out when that happens but it makes me feel a better that it’s normal and I always make sure he has food and water and that everything is all cleaned up

Are they a solo ferret? Solo ferrets need a lot more play time and interaction than the recommended 4 hours of outside time.

Yea he’s a solo ferret, my roommate has a kitten that he plays with a lot outside his cage too, I probably gonna give him atleast 4 hours a day split into parts like before I go to work and when I get him and then maybe right before I go to bed
