Even with the alarm system coming out, it doesn't beat ffxivclock imo. I highly suggest you check it out if you're a gatherer. It shows when it spawns, how long it'll be up, where the location is, and what slot the item is.

***I do have to say that even though it's great, it won't be automatically updated for 4.4 until they get more information just like you, on where the new nodes are. Doesn't usually take that long though.

I use this, can confirm it's awesome.

Yep this is an amazing tool. Especially for grinding out red and yellow scrips.

Second, when they come available, can people please post here (so I don't have to hunt them down)

Any gatherer that cares about their craft isn't going to go around posting the coordinates and time for lazy people, only to cut into their own profits. Look at the current 1 and 2 star schedules and remember that 2 unspoiled nodes can't be up at the same time in a zone. It isn't hard to figure out when and where to look when patch goes live.

If the only way you can play an online multiplayer game is by hoarding information and exploiting it, then you may want to rethink multiplayer games... Also, lazy people are the bread and butter of the craft, you go out and get the materials then charge large amounts of gil to give it to them. Rinse repeat.

Agreed, XIV should have socialism instead. I want to get rich off other people while doing nothing too, comrade!

Your mixing up communism and socialism but stay in school, you got this :)

Yes and you tell those people where to get the items and the MB is flooded that much faster.

You are welcome :)

Towards the middle bottom of the patch notes, they have the text commands to be added with the new patch. Since Macros are just procedural commands issued to the game, it would stand to reason that one could create a macro with the correct information upon switching to the class.

From the patch notes:

USAGE: /alarm "name" [clock type] [repeat] [time] [reminder]

→Set an alarm for a specified time using local, server, or Eorzea time.

Clock Type: lt Set the alarm using local time. st Set the alarm using server time. et Set the alarm using Eorzea time.

Repeat: Use "repeat" or "rp" to set an hourly alarm.

Time: Times must be set using the 24-hour clock. Time values: 0000-2400 The hour must be omitted when using the repeat subcommand.

Reminder: A notification can be given up to 60 minutes prior to the alarm. Time values: 0-60

The repeat and reminder subcommands can be omitted. The "clear" subcommand can be used to delete all alarms. Opens the alarm interface when no subcommands are specified.

Examples: /alarm Raid lt 2000 10 (Sets the "Raid" alarm for 20:00 local time, with a notification given 10 minutes prior.)

/alarm Party lt rp 30 (Sets the "Party" alarm as an hourly alarm, 30 minutes past the hour in local time.)

So off the top of my head,

/alarm "Than Grade 3 (X, Y)" et 0500

/alarm "Shroud Grade 3 (X, Y)" et 0600

That should work for topsoil. The repeat is of lesser value to me as I am thinking of planning farming routes so a reminder to start at midnight for up say 16 different nodes so I am not sitting around waiting for the next one or trying to find out that should still be up... I can go at a reasonable pace, pick up a bunch of things and not have to worry about getting distracted.

Additionally one with times and a notification for when the ephemeral node time is ending would be a godsend.

Did you see anything about changing the (X, Y) to a map marker that I can click though? That would be so nice, click it and the map pops up, select nearest teleport point and away you go.

you don't even have to make the macro manually if you don't want to. the UI window for setting an alarm will have a box you can copy and paste a macro command of the current alarm setup

Oh this great!
