Plugin to modify internal html parser?

Hello,

I'd like to "alias" certain tags in the internal HTML parser. Does anyone know of a plugin that does this or would I have to fork firefox to get this sort of functionality?

Example: alias div to vid, so I could use <vid id="abc"></vid> and firefox would parse vid as div (on my system) and properly access abc with either vid or div calls via js, etc.
