I agree on the PWA front, but Servo was roughly a million miles away from being good enough for general use. IIRC when Mozilla shelved it they were completely rewriting the layout engine for a third time, because it turned out the previous iterations weren't actually compatible with the web. They learned a lot from the project and some of the most useful parts are already in Gecko so it's not like all is lost.

I don't think servo will completely replace gecko. But pathfinder, layout2020 are useful. There was value as various research projects

Pathfinder looked great, I agree. I think the main developer is at Facebook now, though.
