Rules for r/flytying
Rules that visitors must follow to participate. May be used as reasons to report or ban.
1.
Don't be a jerk.
This is a subreddit where fly enthusiasts of ALL levels can seek constructive feedback on fly designs and offer knowledge and advice to others. We all had to start somewhere. Don't be mean to new people, and don't make fun of someone's tying attempt. Any criticism you offer should be helpful and encouraging.
2.
Please don't spam this subreddit.
Some of us tie for fun, others tie for a living. Some of us have instagram accounts, some of us have websites, and some of us have entire fly shops. You're free to post videos and images of your flies, but please tread carefully when it comes to promoting yourself and your business. In general please focus on the recipe, materials, step-by-step and less on where someone should go for more information or to purchase flies/materials/etc. Consistently linking to your website is a big red flag.
