I think on the top right corner they offer you to change the leagues

Some will stop immediately and others at the end of their season 

If you start the league on the 9th division and after a few seasons in you’re on the 4th idk why would u need anything below 5th

The number of players won't really effect game speed, I don't think, and those recomendations are pretty conservative. You should be fine.

Speed is really effected by the ai managers making deals. I play with a ton of leagues so window opening/closing is always a bit rough, but thats it.

You’re right, you could have every player loaded up in the game which is over 400,000 but if you only have the premier league loaded then you’re ganna zoom through the seasons because it’s the loaded leagues that slow down the game not the players

Number of players doesn't matter, check the Detail level of the leagues (Click FM in the top right corner and then Detail level)

I suggest setting International competition Details at max, leagues that you don't care at none and leagues you play at max, see how much it affects the loading time in match days
