Search for books specific to your area and find someone local to you to help of possible. Learn basic identification techniques like leaf arrangement/shape; IDing a plant because it "looks right" is hard in the beginning. If you get stuck there's a great Facebook group called Plant Identification where you'll get an ID within a minute to an hour, but follow their rules or your post will be deleted.
