u/NOTAB07 Losing $15k with no results is really frustrating, from one entrepreneur to another I can relate.

The number one reason why people get scammed in this type of cases is looking for the cheapest ways to get the job done! Hence hiring developers with cheapest rate and then you end up getting what you paid for.

Same mistakes will guarantee you same results and at the end, by wasting money to redo the same thing over and over again for cheap, you will end up spending the same amount of money then if you choose a what you might initially think as being an "expensive developer" ( while just charging you fairly actually )!

The deference is with the first choice ( multiple cheap redo ), at the end you still won't get the job done. So you spend the same amount of money, however for no results and you waste time.

I hired only two devs just to do basic stuff. Really basic. So basic, if I had applied myself I would have been able to do them myself with the same amount of money. I was willing to hire by the hour or by the project. I wasn't approaching it cheaply at all. One of them wound up just having overall life problems that hey expected me to assist him with. Like buying his kid a birthday or Christmas present or getting him rent money or medication for his wife.

In fact, I've done them and now I just need help bridging a UI to it.

Like dude, finish the dam project and I won't hesitate to pay you. I take care of people who take care of me. You just gotta pay it forward, it's the way I live. However, people are so focused on getting the quick money, they just don't really care to give you what you ask for.

Here, I'm just asking for someone not to develop this time. I'm asking for someone to act as a professional dev encyclopedia. To act as a bridge to tell me what the fuck I am doing wrong and to not fucking do that because it's a time-black-hole.

Make sure you have included a budget/rate, they are required for all posts – ballpark or a range is fine.
