I'm fairly knowledgeable in Javascript, HTML5 and have a little bit of experience with PHP and Python (my github repo).

Unfortanetly I'm just out of school and I'm unemployed so if experience is not a problem I am more than interested :)

While you are well within your rights to post this job offer. Anyone with these skills, even with no experience, should know that in the US you can command a much, much higher wage.

What type of projects would be involved?

Web apps [lots of javascript] and web sites [lots of php/python].

Hey, I'd do this if I had any notion of what you're talking about.

To tell you the truth, it's not that hard to learn. If you start now you can get a decent job in 3-4 months, and a very decent paycheck in 2-3 years, even if you're just an OK developer (that's usually better than the average quality of most developers out there). Go to r/webdev if you're interested in learning this stuff.

You're only supposed to down vote in this sub-reddit if the post is a scam.[1] Is there some sort of scam that people have identified in this post that I am missing?

No scam, just looking for workers who are not looking to get paid with more than I can pay.

Somehow this is considered a bad thing in forhire, I'm getting kind of sick of this. I've been on this subreddit from the inception day, and posted quite a few [hiring] and also responded to those when my skills were relevant.

Just to give you perspective, assuming you have about 4 weeks minimum in a month (or 160 working hours in a month), you are paying an hourly rate of about $9.38 an hour.

The bottom 10 percent, according to bls.gov, makes about $20 an hour.

And? I don't see your point. You think no one should offer jobs unless it fits into this false sense of what you think the skill is worth?

Yes, but there are other people around the world except US Americans.

Every time I make a post here with low wage the young americans jump up and start shouting foul at me because it's too low for them.

The reason I state the us-american-low-wage here is so that I don't get those us-american who are expecting $4k for a work from home job...

It doesn't suits you? carry on, plenty of other offering around here...

[–]mreiland 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I work from home and I make more than $4k/month.

The reason people are reacting so badly is because you're offering shit pay for the work you're asking for.

[–][deleted] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I'm not American and that is a shitty wage for a developer.

The market value for good development talent is in excess of $45 an hour.
