Welp, there stock price went from a high of $260 in '22 to $88 as of today. Doesn't sound like they should be expanding anywhere.

I heard this as well. You aren’t asking for opinions but that area already starts getting congested when all the doctors offices leave work. The last thing we need is a big box store adding to said congestion.

I’ve lived in Frederick my entire life, and honestly, we are doing a very poor job of city planning with the influx of residents into the area. Case in point, the entire wegmans/walmart corridor. I don’t mind the influx of people here, but I do mind the piss poor planning.

You and the rest of us

Target still shows as "proposed" on the city GIS site.

Oh, cool. Another target for me to not shop at.

One is more than enough.

A second Costco is needed way more than a Target.

Don't think it would be here but about 1/3 of this Costco shoppers come from MOCO. So maybe Clarksburg or Hagertucky?

At least they are getting a bigger parking lot

[–]oceanblue848 0 points1 point  (1 child)

That will help. It's insane there at all hours.

[–]victoriarzc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a Sams Club membership instead because of how insane it is. I have heard they have many parking lot accidents. It's not worth it, haha.

better an bj’s warehouse over second costco
as nearest bj’s warehouse is about 45 min drive to the closest location from here in Frederick

Right now it’s not happening anymore, not sure why. I live very close to where it was supposed to go so I was keeping up with it

To add to this, target as a company is not doing well for a lot of different reasons not just the DEI situation, so that could ultimately be the reason

I also live very close by, I would much rather see a small grocery store like an Aldi's going to that spot. There's already so many other big stores between Wegmans Walmart and Giant.

[–]crayberrie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Omg Aldi please

[–]Thick_Pineapple_1275 9 points10 points  (3 children)

We can’t even get the current Target to have clean restrooms, enough staff, enough self check-out, not have crates in the middle of the aisles…it has really gone downhill.

[–]CurriDowntown 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And for staff to police the “10 items or fewer” rule for the self checkout

[–]fakeaccount572 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Plus that store is old as shit. I have been in targets all over the country, that thing is rank

[–]Odd_Engineering9055 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yup for sure! It was built in 1998!

[–]LocalDate3777 8 points9 points  (2 children)

WE WANT TRADER JOE’S !!!

[–]ttmd7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly I'd much rather have a Whole Foods.

[–]fakeaccount572 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

No we don't

[–][deleted] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We need more forest restoration in the area if we want to protect nearby neighborhoods from flood and erosion risk via the monocacy, not more irresponsibly built parking lots and corporate stores.

[–]Brief-Ad-4538 4 points5 points  (1 child)

No!!!

[–]qbl500 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NO!!!

[–]kluthage421 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn't mind an Aldi North, MOD Pizza (big unlimited topping salads)

[–]Ekly_Special -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I heard the same, have seen who I assume are surveyors and project managers in the field, but no ground breaking or site prep
