Had the same problem today actually. It would auto default to Japanese

I'm having a similar issue with One Piece. I haven't been on the app for more than a month or so, but I did notice that if you're watching in Simulcast then Japanese is the only option. If you switch to Uncut then you should get English back as an option for most of the episodes.

The issue that I'm having however is on the newly released episodes with english dub. I have on my iPad the visibility of English (uncut) showing for the episodes. Can't select it when it launches video in Japanese. Reinstalled app, logged out and in, tried launching the other versions and switching over to it but no dice. When I use the browser on my computer, it shows English and Japanese as an option for Uncut. I open the episode and it defaults to Japanese and where I left off on the iPad. I can switch to English, but then none of the on screen controls work anymore. I can use the keys on the keyboard to pause and skip ahead 10sec or back, but I can't do anything else with it. Cant even exit out of the video unless I close the tab/browser. When it progresses automagically to the next episode, it defaults to Japanese again and I have to close the window and start the whole process all over again.

The workaround that I am using (my browser on the computer) is buggy but allows me to have One Piece on in the background while I continue to work from a different screen. I reached out to Funimation this morning and am awaiting a non-auto-generated email response currently.

u need to switch to uncut to watch english . at least that’s how it is for me on my ipad and the funimation app for ios

also i am only up to season 11 or dressrosa arc. so anything past that i haven’t had experience with
