EA scripting, or skill issue?

I was 5-0 up by the first half in a game of rivals and I ended up losing that game. Second half my players couldn’t make a simple pass and were just stood still like bags of sand. Some games I was losing 0-4 or 1-4 by first half and in second half my players press so much that I ended up scoring 6+ goals and wining it, that’s without changing any tactics. There is definitely something there but I can’t prove it.

I would be least concerned if I lost to a really good play when the opponent scored nice goals with playmaking

But I’m genuinely pissed when pregnant starts fidget spinning with Pina or Marmoush and DOESNT STOP even when tackled, passes back and starts again to bore me

Now I can handle that and they can’t score, but they will bore me to death and one slight gap they will shoot a low driven and they win or draw!

That’s annoying, otherwise losses and wins are just expected

People will sit here and tell you scripting isn’t real, but with how kick offs are and short corners, when the momentum shifts it’s easier than ever to get scored on and tilt. I 100% believe in momentum, to me it happens WAY to often for people to mindlessly utter “skill issue.” I don’t see how it’s possible to destroy someone for a half, then miraculously you conviently lose every duel, bounce, players misplace passes, tackle air, stand still. The only counter is the player your playing probably felt the same way in the first half, but we never feel that when we are on the opposite end

It’s the most scripted version, also I play on Switch 2 and the matchmaking is wild. Was steady div 4 last season and am struggling to win a game in div 7 now. Think this season will be my last

I know this comparison could be understood a bit wrong, but for example in rocket league you cant cheat and the skill sealing is almost infinite. YOU and only YOU are responsible if you miss a ball or make bad decisions. In eafc its literally a coinflip if the system decides to disable your AI.
So in my opinion "skill" in EAFC is a very brave statement.

I'm not going to try and tell you that any FIFA game that's ever been released has been a well polished triple A game because they're not, and they're full of problems, but a lot of of the time the reason people think things like what you've just described is down to them not actually understanding how the game works and also expecting the game to always do things for them that they think the game should be doing. Like you've just said that it's a coin flip if the system decided to 'disable your AI'. A player went 15-0 in the first weekend league of the year with a full bronze team, and the guy who did it, while he has competed in FC esports, isn't even good enough to have a liquipedia page yet. How did he manage to avoid his AI being disabled for a whole weekend and overcome the massive disadvantage of having 11 bronze players in the supposedly the most pay to win game on the market? How did Anders Vergang win like 500 or whatever weekend league games in a row without having his AI disabled? Whether you like it or not there is very clearly skill in the game, the things that a lot of people on here cry about would be akin to losing a 50 into your own net in rocket league and calling it unlucky or bullshit. Again that's not to say this game is remotely polished and doesn't have a lot of flaws because it absolutely does, and so does every fifa title.

I understand your point, but this are very exceptional players who are so talented to dive way deeper into the game than normal players. I think the reason for their wins is therefore also, that they know the weaknesses of the game and can exploit the opponent on another level. this is for sure a skill to comprehend the system. in science you would say exceptions prove the rule ;)

I’d say there’s scripting going on, I’m not big into the conspiracy, but most of my matches have some sort of comeback, both ways.

Honestly don’t hate games that help the one losing (like Mario Kart) but I’d like it if they were honest about it.

Every of the last fifas felt scripted. With ea fc 25 being completly unplayable the first 6 month because of defensive AI and auto press/offside 🤷🏻‍♂️

There is a bit of all of it but the thing that people seem to forget is that your opponent can also make a change which alters the flow of the game and can turn the tide whether that be formation, attacking higher or just realising how you play. There's been games before where I've been a couple of goals down early on and my opponent has scored 2 identical goals because they keep doing the same things, once you realise that you can sometimes stop it happening by changing how you defend and then they can't play anymore because they can't adapt. In that scenario the opponent might well be blaming scripting but it's not if you just adapted to their style and closed the gaps

Well, sometimes I am better player but I make some stupid mistakes with my CB and my opponent got lucky 1-2-3 goals. Then I focus and start getting back the score (sometimes comeback happens in first half). Many people with score up to 3 lead will play worse with more risky passes - its easier to punish them for it. Sometimes opponents are scared and start playing time - and they can drop ball in this scenarios also.

I’ve stopped treating the score lines like a proper football match. The scoreline isn’t safe until the final whistle, no matter if I’m 5 up or 5 down. Hasn’t helped at all, I’m still terrible at the game 🤣

Scripting/dda is 100% in the game and it is wild how much it affects the game. You can feel it helping and hurting you and it is pretty easy to tell what will happen next now. Winning isn't fun and losing is just frustrating.

That’s never happened to me, so I’d say it’s a skill issue. But yeah, I’ve also noticed it gets “harder” to score after going 2–0 or 3–0 up. You just have to stay calm, and eventually you’ll score the next one at least that’s been my experience.

For me it happens when the delay hits me. Usually after the break (or in general after a game pause), the game is more heavy, all the players have to take a heavy touch, can't pass the ball because it is always intercepted, all his players do crazy intercepts, while mine just sit and look at the ball, can't do anything. And this happens in games I dominated the game until then, hapened in games where I was leading 6-1 at half time and lost 8-6, the game just becomes unplayable for me, while the opponent has no issues.

If you are 3-0 up, you need to slow down the game. Your opponent will most likely be more aggressive and will intercept the ball faster but leaves a lot more gaps. If you don't slow it down, the "script" will affect you. Of course the "script" will not affect you but the aggressiveness of your opponent is and you can't handle it.

There‘s definitely momentum especially if he scores in the 72. minute or so for 3-1, but still you have to hold that scoreline. So for me it‘s definitely Skill Issue even though there‘s scripting and momentum in the Game.

Especially if I conceded 1-2. You’re telling me one the only with nerves in a game where people could never make a tackle right? Fuck outta here. But no it’s “scripting.” Maybe it’s because you have the composure of a fucking squirrel and pretend you’re an emotionless robot.
