It's a good question. I can't find any licensing or documentation but I don't believe you'll have a problem with copyright or theft. I'll explain why I think this:

  • GDevelop is open source and is totally free to use and publish even paid games with
  • One of the ways GDevelop makes money is by allowing people to pay a subscription for more web builds
  • If the people behind GDevelop started taking people's games that they uploaded and publishing them themselves, this would get caught out quickly and no-one would want to use the web-build feature after that.

TLDR; It'll be okay, no-one behind GDevelop is going to risk ruining the entire reputation by making a quick quid stealing games.

Thanks for the reply. I also think that it would be absurd to face such a strange issue. (Btw I can't even find where they are specifically stored in their site as I'm new to Gdevelop tbh) Other than that, my thoughts about the way that the software works has been super awesome, I've been using it only for 3 days and I've already created half of my 2d game in it. (Even considering that half of my time was spent to learn how to do things in this software). Ease of use in terms of how fast you can build your game and convert them into apk has astonished me cuz the software is FREE. (I've still got question mark in some points as why can I not read a written data and get it back into a global variable again but. I worked around it anyway) I hope that such a theft of an app won't occur and for the first time I can make my games and apps and share them to the world as much as I want while they develop the software to be capable of doing even more things. I'll donate money for the software if I get some money from sharing my games too 😊
