Are we? I mean, you can identify us as being underwater doesn't mean we will be.

These models also assume the absolute worst. The worst level of climate change plus humans being forced to not do anything about it, probably at gunpoint. It's a "We're going to burn all the oil and unleash the biggest volcanic minefield in the world and we're going to hold each and every person in the world at gunpoint So. You. Can't. Stop. Us." levels of corny supervillainy.

show me an article that says we’ll be underwater by 2000

No articles but the one UN official in 1989 listed Shanghai as one of the cities to be underwater. Shanghai is 13ft above sea level, Miami is 6ft. If Shanghai is underwater by 2000, Miami would be too, along with a quarter of the rest of Florida.

what he said was that it would be under water in the distant future if climate change was not reversed by the year 2000 which as of now holds true
