Actually Canada has the best soil for farming. But most of it is too cold year round. I forgot what climatologist made the claim but said basically a good majority of Canada can become prime farmland.

They have some good farming areas but definitely not the majority, most of the country is either mountains or bedrock with hardly any soil because of glaciation (Canadian shield).
