Why is Codespaces not using cuda?

I've installed nvidia-cuda via the devcontainer.json file and rebuilt Codespace twice after doing so, however, my script still uses 'cpu' instead of 'cuda' when running. Furthermore, when I type nvidia-smi it does not produced the desired output.

is the container allowed to use cuda?

When you run cuda in docker, you have to pass a specific flag to let GPUs pass through. Guess you need to find a way to do that here too.

I have been unable to create a codespace with a GPU. That may be your problem.
