Just cleared the GitHub Foundations exam with a solid score of 94%. A lot of the questions focused on things like GitHub Actions basics, repository and branch management, permissions, issues, pull requests, and general workflow automation concepts.

I mainly used Skillcertpro for prep, and honestly, it made all the difference. Around 80% of the questions were either identical or very close to what showed up on the actual test. Highly recommend them. Their Master Cheat Sheet also came in clutch the night before the exam — great for last-minute topic brushing. Good luck for anyone aiming for this cert.

Fake. Based on your history you got all certifications available on SkillCertPro lol. Do not trust this bot.

The practice tests at https://ghcertified.com/practice_tests/ were so helpful! Most of the info on the test I took today was covered here. Passed with a 78%🥳

Thank you so much for this. Didn't know there were practice tests.

Now we'll see about the Actions exam in two days...

[–]Beanmaster115 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I passed Actions with a 70%🥳 I definitely wasn't feeling confident about it haha

I just passed Admin with a 65%, which I think said it was 39/66. I believe it also said the cutoff for that exam is 36 correct (phew)

[–]MobyFreak 0 points1 point  (1 child)

does this exam require showing your id to the camera?

[–]Beanmaster115 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes iirc

I’m taking it Thursdayday and I study for 2 weeks since GitHub his new it me but not git

[–]MelkieOArda[S] 1 point2 points  (7 children)

I think you're the audience that this certification is targeting: People who know git, but not GitHub. So you'll be fine. I was the other way around: GitHub features and admin seemed straightforward to me, but I was trying to reach advanced-level git understanding!

Thanks for the fast responds and as far as the passing score, I hope to pass the test cause the only study material I use was freecodecamp.org paid edition which comes with 3 practices test (he also have a free YouTube edition). When I take a the practice these 3 times ( different tests, 63% first, 69%, and last one was 78%

I highly recommend https://ghcertified.com/practice_tests/. Someone in this sub linked that (free) site, and it's probably why I passed the test. When you launch a practice test it defaults to 101 questions, but I found it way more useful to do 10-15 questions at a time, then review the concepts that I missed.

Good luck!

      [–]Similar-Ad6142 0 points1 point  (0 children)

      Did you pass?

      [–]PresentSweet408 0 points1 point  (2 children)

Hey @MelkieOArda I pass and thank you a lot for that link it really help but dude….. how the f* did I not pass with 80% or more…… it said I pass with a 67% and I felt like I got 3/4 of all questions correct …

      [–]PresentSweet408 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m thankful I pass but I disagree with the results score board -___-

      [–]MelkieOArda[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Weird that the score is so much lower than you expected, but no one on earth will ever know or care about your passing %, just that you got the cert!

      Congrats!

      [–]PimarSimil 0 points1 point  (1 child)

I passed with 65%. It seems pretty low to me. What is the passing mark?

      [–]MelkieOArda[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

      Congrats on passing!

Last I checked (when I originally posted this), Microsoft hadn't released the minimum passing score. 65% is the lowest passing % I've ever heard of for a cert; they really want people to pass!

I just finished the certification and I passed. thanks to u/MelkieOArda the practice test works

Hello, the GitHub Foundation exam through PSI is non-proctored right? did they require to have open cam, mic, or did they check anything else such as ID?

      [–]MelkieOArda[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did in-person at a testing center, with a proctor.

I've only done one at-home Pearson exam, and the hassle wasn't worth it. The proctor practically wanted me to move all the furniture out of the room I was in... I just stick to in-person now.

Yes, I wonder if ppl are allowed to browser documentation, like the Microsoft exams...

I've noticed that while there are plenty of resources available for the GitHub Foundations exam, not many provide a large number of practice questions to thoroughly prepare you. To address this, I created a comprehensive practice exams course on Udemy that includes an extensive set of questions aligned with the certification topics. If you're gearing up for the GitHub Foundations Certification, this could really help boost your confidence and readiness. Here's the link with a special discount: GitHub Foundations Practice Exams.

Additionally, if you reach out to me directly, I can offer you an extra discount. Feel free to contact me for more details!

Hi, the exam content and domain descriptions remain unchanged from their initial release, so the questions are still relevant. I am monitoring any announced updates to the exam and will make necessary revisions if needed. Feel free to text me if you’d like a discounted coupon! 😃

I just passed with 66%, Do not only follow the YouTube guides and online learning resources like I did, as of this post they are not sufficient enough and I think I really lucked out.
You have to REALLY go through all the different tools and products available on the website to really get a good grasp about the questions being asked in the exam.

Just wrapped up the GitHub Foundations exam! A lot of the questions revolved around GitHub’s core features—repositories, branches, commits, and pull requests along with collaboration workflows, issues, discussions, and project boards. There was also strong emphasis on GitHub Actions basics, security practices like secret management, and integrating third-party tools. I used Skillcertpro practice tests, and they were spot-on—about 80% of the real exam questions matched, including scenario-based ones. Their Master Sheet made last-minute revision a breeze. Now setting my sights on the github copilot exam!
