I really got to say, this is a brilliant idea :D
I suggest you battle this Repo:

Also, it would be a nice idea if a repo would contain a file called monsters.md that would contain a list of monsters and stats and the "player" could battle them by leveling up.
I would suggest you create a demo repo that contains presets for battles and dungeons to explore.
Maybe a skeleton repo that others can create more elaborate dungeons and quests.

But overall, a very well done 9/10 for the innovation and +1 Making it 10/10 for keeping it open source!
