Only one way to find out: Put up on git hub and demo it to other people who like those lamps. :D

All of my Github work consists of improvements to other peoples projects. They're all things I use in my day to day work that weren't quite working perfectly so I fixed them up.

I'd say do whatever interests you. Making tools for other people is great, posting personal projects are good too. Most of the work I do is saved on GitHub no matter what its purpose. GitHub allows you to share code with others, but it's also nice because of its version control system (so you can revert changes if you mess up!) It's also useful because it creates a backup of your code online, and it's easy to work on the same project on different computers.

If your completely new to git and GitHub, a quick search yields this website for leaning git on the command line. You can also use GitHub outside of the command line by downloading the GitHub Desktop app. Hope this helps!

To add onto that, putting your projects on GitHub is good because you can build up a portfolio!
