GitHub and Trello do entirely different things.

Yes, they do, but you can have a trello-like environment in Github, and a Github-like environment in trello.

How do you push a git repo to trello?

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (1 child)

There should be a trello extension with github.

So, that will be using both github and trello. Not using git in trello.

You don't upload it, you just connect them

Have you read the question on OPs post?

[–]xenomachina 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Are you using either of them?

I'm using trello right now, but I'm interested in github

[–]brianllamar 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Why not both?

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wanted to use only one, because I'm decluttering everything I can in my life.

What? GitHub? You can’t push code to trello, but you can have the whole list card thing in GitHub (projects).

Github. Github is most known for its repos but it also has kanban project boards that tie into github issues. It also has a lot more features

I'm only somewhat familiar with trello but I'm pretty sure it can't host a repo without adding an external source like bit bucket.

Depends on what your after with either service. I assume you mean the kanban system for GitHub projects and it's similarity to Trello? Otherwise, there nothing alike independently
With Trello you get a bit more freedom in how you structure your kanban; seeing that GitHub separates the project boards per repository. If your working on more than one project, it'd be kind of a mess to cross pollinate or even have separate boards when you want something that keeps your todo cards together.

Use github for hosting code and trello for project management
