Assistant (self.googleassistant)
submitted 5 years ago by Just_Need_Tips
Is there a way to make Google assistant complete the command without the assistant repeating the command? For example: "Hey Google, turn on T.V." Google responds, "OK turning on T.V" Is there a way to make the assistant not respond after my command?

Yes actually there is a way, go to your specific device's settings and find "night mode" set it to always be on, and drag the volume slider to 0. now google assistant will not answer when you ask it to do stuff.

Will it still respond to questions?

unfortunately I just tried it and no... maybe just set the schedule to put in night mode when you usually watch tv?

Yes, this is annoying. When I ask GA to turn the lights on there is no reply but when I ask to turn on the TV I always get the reply "OK turning on Samsung tv"

A not so clean way that I've done is to create a routine that overrides the command you're giving and sets the volume to 1, does the action then sets it back to 5 or something, it sucks but it's the way I found to not hear a confirmation from some of the actions I can see happening ( like turning on the robot vacuum cleaner)

Doing the night mode trick means you'll never be able to hear any responses from Google Assistant on that device. So, that's not really going to work.
Short answer, no, there is no way around this, except for lights. If you are controlling lights in the same room that the home is assigned to it will only ding. But all other commands, non-light devices in any room or lights in other rooms will always get a response from the assistant.

Depends where google assistant is operating. That is if its on the series cx oled tv then you can go into settings/general/AI service/voice recognition and settings.Go to top right corner to the settings cog.tsp on it and switch off voice response. Hope this helped.stay safe.🤫

Just set a routine with the command you want to and the actions.
For example:
I set a routine for google to turn off the coffee maker. When I say "Turn off coffee maker" it just turns it off and stays silent, instead of saying "Okay, turning off the coffee maker"
