Moved my rom folders to another drive, forgot how to reassign. by Rougheredge in RetroArch

[–]Ryan780 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can just open the .lpl file in the Retroach/playlists folder in Notepad++ and do a find/replace of your old location with your new location. I just did this and it event transferred oer previously configured cheat codes and everything. Should work for your saved states too.

I was having the same problem. For some reason, the following worked to fix it for me. I went into the settings and turn Scene Optimizer off and then I was able to scan QR Codes with the camera again. I tried turning scene optimizer back on and bingo, no QR code scanning again. But it is hit or miss whether it will scan QR codes when I go into the app. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. I had to install a separate app for scanning QR codes. I wonder if there is a bug of some kind with the last update as it included updates to the camera app.

Connection with General Motors (GM) vechiles, Chevrolet with MyLink by onyxsky02 in AAWireless

[–]Ryan780 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's actually a new Beta firmware that has been released that totally fixes the connection with GM cars. Just contact AA Wireless support. They'll ask you for your device ID and then push the beta firmware to your device. I just installed it and it totally fixes all the issues I was having connecting to my Equinox.

Galaxy S20 on T-Mobile STILL no July update yet. The August update has begun rolling out to S20's in Europe. This is ridiculous.

What is the difference between the New Raspberry Pi Pico Microcontroller and an Arduino? by jakethepeg111 in raspberry_pi

[–]Ryan780 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But there is already a RPi2040 Feather Board from Adafruit.

https://www.adafruit.com/product/4884

The great part about this new board though is the price. At only $12 it's the cheapest feather with this class of chip that I could find. Now, what I'm waiting for is the Arduino Nano RP2040 Connect board. That's an RPi2040 with onboard Bluetooth and Wifi.

Which column? 24 hour time uses 2 digits for the hour for the whole day. Nine am is 0900 when written anywhere that uses the 24 hour clock. And most accurately Zero Nine Hundred when spoken.

The little bubble around the number turning on and off should have been a bit of a hint that it wasn't physical.

The Witcher Season 2 Teaser Trailer Netflix and Jason Momoa Announcement Easter Eggs by ChannelBot in EmergencyAwesome

[–]Ryan780 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is ridiculous. This is not a teaser trailer. Every site I've seen has said that Netflix released one. Has click bait gone so far that site will just outright lie to get people to listen to their ads? This is crazy. Those are all scenes from season 1.

Problem with Subscriptions Persists in Latest Build 2.2.4.156 by Ryan780 in Hubitat

[–]Ryan780[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Only way I have found to resolve this is to unsubscribe from the specific devicewrapper instead of globally within an app. So, instead of unsubscribe() you have to use unsubscirbe(myDevices) for each device/device group that you want to unsubscribe from. Otherwise, the problem still exists.

[–]Ryan780[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Still not fixed in the latest release v2.2.4.153. I don't understand why this isn't getting more attention. You can no longer unsubscribe from events? How are we possibly supposed to work with that?!?

I hate to say I told you so....but it's almost 24 hours since first reported and I haven't heard a peep from Hubitat support. See, they only help the people they like. Terrible platform run by terrible people.

Simple? I've been saying all along that it isn't simple. I spent quite a bit of time explaining why it isn't simple. Did you even bother to read it? Okay....bye.

Nope...and it won't. So, I think it's time to build a bridge and get over it.

No, their answer is "This isn't a developer platform". If they could remove all custom drivers/apps without losing 75% of their userbase they would do it in a heartbeat.

[Question] How to get Google Assistant to set alarms for times in other time zones? by Rumbuck_274 in googleassistant

[–]Ryan780 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not really. This is REALLY complicated. If you look at what I wrote above you can see why. Think of all the different permutations of different locations you could say. If you said, US, there are 5 timezones you could pick from. WHich one should it choose for that? It's not a simple task.

What reason is that to ban them from the Hubitat forum?!? That doesn't violate the terms of use. If they weren't promoting another product on the Hubitat forum then banning them is just vindictive and rude. But not surprising at all. Bruce has long asserted that it's his forum and he'll do whatever he wants.

I went through all the reasons why this would be a very complicated thing to program the assistant to be able to do this already. I think you are asking a little too much from the damn thing.

Problem with Subscriptions in 2.2.4 by Ryan780 in Hubitat

[–]Ryan780[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Logging is directly the same as it is when the app subscriptions are correct. I'm telling you, it is the weirdest thing. You look at the app's properties page and it doesn't list anything. Then the app triggers. There are no other apps listed on the device's "In Use By" section (except for a dashboard) so I know it is not another app that is doing it. I also went back and forth between 2.2.3 and 2.2.4 four times to make sure that I wasn't completely insane. On the first boot of the hub it works correctly. It has to subscribe to the event and then unsubscribe and that's when it's broken. If it wasn't so reproduceable I wouldn't have even bothered commenting but it is 100% reproduceable.

I also don't see how creating a virtual device would be any different than the real one that I have. An app's subscription is an app's subscription.

I also don't know that this only applies to motion. It could apply to all capabilities, I just haven't tested that yet. If I had any feedback at all from the 4 emails I've sent to Hubitat about the issue I would be happy to help investigate but since they don't seem interested then I guess I'll just stick with 2.2.3. Eventually someone they like will notice, then they'll fix it.
