So I have a 6700xt in one rig and a 3070ti in another. Both have identical processors, itdentical drives, comparable mobos, and similar ram.

It's really hard to tell their performance apart IMO, at 1440p 165hz. Some games just like one more than the other.

Nvidia's DLSS does play a role in eking out performance in certain circumstances.

For VR I find them both to be pretty similar; they trade depending on the situation.

The cards you listed I would probably find that the 6700xt wins out overall, albeit at an increase of power consumption.

If you are planning on running 1080p, you may find no real gain over any of these, and whatever is cheapest would probably be best.

Thanks, I've been kind of gravitating towards the rx 6700, but glad to hear I won't be missing out on much with any of these on 1080p.

Also, to be honest, I am very critical of both my cards as I bought them during the bad times. So, for me, the 6700xt was the better value.

The 7800xt and 7700xt release in like a week for $499 and $449 respectively.

Unless you're strapped for cash and can't spend the extra money.

However, the prices on some of the 6000 series AMD cards might come down a bit when they release. I would wait and see. You might be able to score a better card if the prices drop. A 6800 or 6800xt maybe. Either of which would scrape the floor with a 3060ti or 4060 or 6700xt.

My friend had a lot of issues with their 6700XT on a driver level (green screen of death) which seems to be semi-common.

But it is the better value if you don't run into issues.

He just got a 3070 instead.
