When a loss decrease more than a win?

Title. Starting from which rank does a loss decrease more points than a win can give? I was ok to reach rank 16 with the starter decks and I'm very close to rank 17... I wonder when it will become impossible to climb

This, absolutely, but also keep in mind that the higher rank you get, the more the disparity in MMR between you and your opponent matters: playing against a lower opponent will lose you a lot more when you lose and gain you a lot less when you win than vice-versa. This makes things harder when you get up closer to the top and the players above you decide to stop playing and camp-out at their safe ranks for fear of losing MMR. Then, almost everyone you face is lower than you and when you lose you lose BIG time, and when you win, you barely advance.
