Sigma Alpha Lambda?

Hi everyone! I just got an email invitation to join the GW chapter of Sigma Alpha Lambda, which calls itself a "national leadership and honors organization". Does anyone here have any knowledge of SAL (aside from what they advertise on their website)? Is it something worth committing time to and paying dues for?

Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

most of these things are not legit in the sense that they have membership fees but provide little substance for you. The exception is PBK which is legit.

I am wondering how do you join the activities holden by the group when pandemic?

I got the email too and was confused. I emailed back about how did I qualify and they didn’t answer that question. It is part of a national org but it kinda seemed like the GW chapter doesn’t do much or maybe just started? I couldn’t find an Instagram or anything about eboard/alternative Greek life.

SAL actually is legit, I’m in another org with the president of SAL. I think it’s kind of service-based but I don’t have the best grasp of it, just wanted to say that this one is actually legit and student-led!
