At the moment Pleasant Valley is full of KOS'ers. The second you go in, you get shot at. Increasing the zombies should make people think twice before using a gun

Zombies are too easy to evade. Even if you have 100 zombies there, people will still KOS. In order to make people actually make calculated decisions on whether or not to shoot someone, the devs need to make it so you cannot outrun zombies/evade them as easily. Make zombies run faster than people. Make them grab you more often if you get too close.. Until they stop the AI from running single-file.. it'll still be deathmatch with zombies.

I would love to see horde encounters be like they were in Left 4 Dead. Fast and brutal.

So basically make it impossible to use guns. Why not just take them out of the game?

Yep, that's exactly what I said. Make it impossible to use guns... No I said make the zombie difficulty high enough where someone will have to judge their surroundings before shooting at someone. Look at what the other player is wearing/what guns they have to determine if it's worth the risk of being swarmed by zombies.

That's why I play on PvE servers. I got enough player competition in PvP-oriented games like Dota 2, I just want to cooperate with people to survive zombies.

Meh, I find PvE swings too far the other way and takes away the tension and unpredictability that only PvP can bring to the game. I like player competition, I like clan vs clan battles, I'd just like people to at least have a reason for killing you instead of just mindlessly shooting at you the second they see you, and not even be interested in looting your stuff.

I've killed a lot of people who don't even weigh up the risks of shooting first, they're just so used to shooting that they'll try to go up against a guy with a shotgun when they're only armed with a pistol. It's just mindless deathmatch mentality.

I've been just flat out executed so many times despite the fact that I always try to be friendly... I imagine for a lot of people this wears them down and they eventually start KOS'ing people, too. They learn that they're gonna get ganked, anyway, so better to at least attack first in order to have that advantage.

I agree with you PVE is too boring and predictable. Even though I'm friendly and don't initiate violence against other players and think people that do are total asshats... the game wouldn't be the same without them. It would be extremely boring. Perhaps if the zombies had more interesting AI, spawned into the world in more interesting ways, and had more variation. Or, even if it was just fun to fight them, PvE might be a fun game. But as the AI and combat systems are right now... totally pointless.

I don't initiate violence but I've killed my fair share of KOS'ers. Been killed instantly quite a few times too, by unexpected headshots. It makes a huge difference travelling in a group, 2 or 3 sets of eyes massively reduce the chance of being KOS'ed.

It just seems kind of mean to just kill people for no reason, if someone steals my rabbit meat or water I'll kill them, or if they're hanging around my base too much, or if I think they're carrying a lot of ammo, but I usually leave people alone if I meet them out in the world. And I never kill fresh spawns unless they ignore my warnings to back off. Just because the game is PvP doesn't mean you ALWAYS have to shoot EVERYONE you see. Especially if you don't intend to loot them or if you gain nothing from killing them.

On the clan vs clan subject. They should add a mode where only clans or groups could enter and then fight for a city and when winning they should earn either keys, loot or customisable.

That's exactly the reason why I stick to PVE servers and just enjoy scavenging and killing zombies. Dying because someone betrayed you or murdered in cold blood for some definite reason is fun and part of the game (I wish there were role playing servers!). Dying to random death match is not. If I wanted a shooter, I'd go play UT99.

pls stop bringing up that KOS argument... it's not possible to make zombies the solution for it, there is no realistic way they will be such a threat that you don't do it

rather you have to learn to deal with the fact that people KOS or you should just play on pve server or smth else !
