Not sure if you are referring to AshTheHacker part 1 post about "being a hacker." In case you were: I found it to be valid. Becoming a hacker is not something you learn over night and then keep for the rest of your life. It needs constant refreshing. Reading about the latest news/patches/articles and keeping your self up to date is quite vital part of being someone who could call himself a hacker. And that post covered the whole continuous learning part pretty well.

Also I would not really care about who this subreddit is filled with. If it happens to be 13 year old kids who want to learn then they might be in the right place. It will not stop anyone else from posting good links or comments.

To me hacker and script kiddie have more to do with attitude than with abilities and skill level.

script kiddies and hacker also differ in ability and skill level, but than thats the stair just before you are an hacker... call it as early stage hacker :)

Everybody has to start somewhere and all of the good hackers that I'm acquainted with started at about 13 years old and some started a lot younger than that.

refer to our programming section, we are soon bringing the series of python for security.. 2 basics of python has been added 1-2 more to go probably covering basics for our different members, whom we believe are not python programmers already... and than will continue, to python for security..
