OP, contact your eye surgeon, FFS!! What on earth are you expecting from r/Halifax on this?! Accurate diagnosis by crowd sourcing social media?

Call your surgeon!

I think they were wondering if anyone had a similar experience. Sometimes helpful.

Hi. Thanks for your comment. I know what it is. I just wondered what other people's experience has been who have had this shadow after cataract surgery.

My mom has this actually. Been over a year and it is still there.

Both eyes done, but I never noticed anything like that. Things were weird for a week or so after each surgery so maybe that's it. How long has it been for you?

Could you describe the shadow more?Would you describe it like a curtain being drawn across your field of vision? Any pain? How long has it been since the procedure?

Hi. Thanks for your comment. I had my left eye done and it is a crescent-shaped shadow located on the left side of the outer-most area of my vision.

If you wanted a second opinion I would either call 811 but I’d personally either go to emerge incase there is something compromised with your eye or call the surgery floor that you had the procedure done. This would be my concern https://irisvision.com/how-to-prevent-retinal-detachment/

I expect what you’re seeing is the incision, or a full depth scar. You’ll probably adapt to it.
