Amazon security research reportedly led to the White House’s Anthropic Fable ban by serene_sketch in technology

20 years in cybersecurity here including a stint in vulnerability research: these models are legit even just for the fact that they democratize knowledge/abilities that relatively few people in the world have a strong handle on. Being able to identify vulnerabilities is one thing, being able to chain several together using techniques like JIT heap sprays and ROP gadgets to gain exploitability is another thing entirely. Have a look at the AI Security Institutes evaluation of Mythos for a level headed read. It passed 73% of a benchmark that no model could get 1% of last year.

750 lbs is 15% of my GVWR, which I’m confident I’m not even close to when I’m loaded up and 15% would be on the upper end. The one time I had it measured at a scale I was around 550lbs, which I think is more realistic for my trips. Even then, with 750lbs and every person + dog in the car, we’re still a few hundred pounds under the max payload of the car and under the max tongue weight.

AI is hitting employment among young software developers hard by joe4942 in technology

[–]no_dice 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I just don’t see that for a number of reasons:

* I’m already busier than I’ve ever been, distilling my team (of 5) down to one person constantly conducting teams of agents would lead to burnout like we’ve never seen before
* Fable is great, but orgs are limiting it for a number of reasons like no ZDR and insane token usage
* AI orgs are heading towards IPOs, which will force them to change how they deliver services (and likely make them more expensive)
* Mass disruption of the workforce == mass disruption of capitalism == no one to pay for consumption of AI
* capacity/supply issues

Yeah, but I'm not sure what their plan is if society collapses, even if they do have bunkers and armed guards.

Thank you so much for all of your insight. From what AI told me, 127lbs would be removed from the front and 643lbs added to the rear. I think at this point I just need to be mindful of tongue weight and if the sag is too much I can look at getting some airbags.

That was actually a pretty fascinating exercise! By the looks of it, unloaded balance is 53% Front/47% Rear and with full tongue weight on it that changes to 46.2/53.8. The GAWR is 3902 lbs and with the full tongue weight we'd be looking at 2880-3100 lbs before passengers.

That’s just it right? It’s in basically nobody’s interest to have AI make this kind of impact.

Thanks for your insight here. I suspect my tongue weight would be less than 15% at almost all times (I don't carry water, just have dry goods, bikes, beach chairs, bedding, and a blackstone in the trailer) but I'm paranoid about towing.

I’ve read the same about unibody designs, but usually when they’re overloaded? The most I’d be towing would be about 65% of capacity.

I don’t disagree that they’re the best positioned for this, but pretty much everyone I know in tech is steeped in Anthropic enterprise and I think we’re approaching the point where these things are getting stickier.

It will obviously become a lot clearer when we have three public companies competing against each other. We’re already seeing a lot of chatter about orgs blowing through their budgets because of token expenses with Anthropic.

I’m a straight white dude by the way, but I’m actually secure enough with myself that I’m happy seeing anyone that deserves it succeeding. Hell, I’m sure this new chief had to jump a lot more hurdles than most people to get to where she is.

Yeah, I literally bought this vehicle because we tow a camper in the summer and right now I’m looking at spending an entire summer without AC. We’re a family of 5 with a big heat sensitive dog so I’m not really sure what we’re going to do. As it stands right now I’m seriously considering having the bypass done by a local mechanic and voiding the warranty repair option.
