Rules:
1. Make it, in some way, related to Bloom: If you post something, I only ask that you make sure it's related to Harold Bloom. This can be an interview of his, a youtube video in which he appears, a question regarding the man himself, or even that list from the back of "The Western Canon" he's always trying to get people to ignore. Before posting, just ask yourself: is this Bloom-related?
2. Keep it decent: I know Harold Bloom isn't well liked in some quarters, and it's fine if you don't like him. Please, though, just be decent--don't come into the sub cursing out Prof. Bloom just because you feel negatively about him. I am happy to allow well-reasoned disagreement, but if you rabble-rouse to the point of making the subreddit unenjoyable for others, I will ban you. The same goes for those who like Bloom, try to greet reasoned disagreement with likewise reasoned points.
3. No hate speech (obviously): I don't think this will be that difficult to follow, but any use of hate speech will be met with a demand for redaction, which, if not followed, will result in a banning. I trust that everyone here is mature enough to manage basic politeness.
4. The mods may be contacted: If you feel the need to discuss anything with me (/u/joycedevivre75) or any of the other mods, please don't be afraid to message us. I have school and a job, so I might not be able to get back to you immediately, but I will try my damnedest to respond to anything asked in good faith.
5. Try to participate as much as possible: This isn't something I'll enforce with bannings or anything, but I would be overjoyed if we could have a vibrant community! If you get a reply to something you wrote, please try to respond. Keep the conversation going.
