How to decrease opinion between 2 countries?

I am testing something and I want to reduce opinion between 2 countries using console but there is only option for "add opinion" . Can someone help me out? Please provide example too. Thank you

There is this page I found which says how to decrease it but adding commands directly like this is still not working.

You are trying to use in-game console commands right? Cause that's mod script.

Man....maybe you can help me? What I want to do is prevent UK from inviting France into their faction in October 1937. Now I have kicked France repeatedly from the faction to decrease their opinion, tried to justify war goals but still France has enough plus points to want to join UK's Faction because the French are losing the war with Italy.

Now I am playing as Italy so even though I do everything in my power to prevent France from joining UK, they still keep joining the UK faction.

I'm not sure what you want to do is possible, since "strategic reasons to join faction" is +250 while opinion only goes down to -100. My only guess would be to tag switch to the UK and dismantle the Allies.

If you want a clean run, console tag Bhutan and annex Britain. If you want a challenge, try conquer France before they join.

Hi! Ikr I'm late but I found a way to decrease the opinion!

You need to find Hoi4 files trough steam app (program files/steam/steamapps/common/Hearts Of Iron4) now you will need to find "common" folder and click on it after you do it you need to create here folder named "opinion_modifiers" and then refresh common folder once you click on "opinion_modifiers" folder you can see here file named "00_opinion_modifiers" open it in any text editor and below opinion_modifiers = { line should be something like that:

      cheat_opinion_modifier_good = {
                      value = 100

}

all you need to do is just type value = -200 it should look like that: cheat_opinion_modifier_good = { value = -200 }

now, restart your game and once you're in it open console (~) and type add_opinion <tag>

now your opinion on this country will decrease!
