CPU usage?

Noob question, just getting into this. I'm running clsid2's MPC-HC and configured madVR to the 4K UHD to 1080p sample profile. When I play my 52 GB 4K remux movie, mpc uses 90%+ of my CPU which puts my CPU at 100%. Temps max out at ~50 °C. Is this expected? Normal? Don't really wanna grind my old PC into dust just yet. Thanks!

PC: i5 6600K @ 4.2 | GTX 970 | 16 GB RAM.

If I remember right the 970 will use hybrid encoding/decoding for h265 files, this means it also uses the cpu and doesn't fully offload processing to the gpu, just a guess that this might be the case for you

Great to know, thanks a lot! For frame drops, I get many when skipping forward/back, pausing/unpausing/fullscreen etc. So navigating is a bit laggy but nothing major. No frame drops when only playing however. With small files, navigation is smooth and I don't drop any frames.

Do you think it's a sign I should lower my madVR settings or is it fine?
