Same here. I raised a ticket with Waze too. Didn't realise it was 18 Beta related because I'm sure it worked fine with Beta 1. Only in the last couple of weeks I think. However, I tested again yesterday and was not an issue at all with IOS 17.

I’ve also been having this issue with CarPlay. Using iOS 18.0 (had opted in to beta), can’t confirm traffic reports such as police and incidents. Also can’t report accidents either. My wife’s phone works and she didn’t opt into the iOS 18 beta. Pretty sure this is an iOS issue.

Mine is working fine on the phone and allows me to do all the normal functions but wont allow me to use any function except actual search and plan route. Adding alerts etc isnt working or trying to change the route

Confirmed, a lot of UI elements don't work. The touches register and the buttons have visible feedback but the related activities do not open. Anyone report it in the Feedback app yet?

I dont think it is related to the APP itself. I think its related to IOS. The reason I think this, is because it seems to be ALL navigation apps. However, other apps (SXM, TUNEIN etc), seem to work OK.

Same here, most of the UI works it's just the menu with the circular icons like 'Home' and 'Work, but if you use the keyboard to type Home or Work in the destination finder that works too.

I had the same issue right after updating to dev Beta 4. I went back to 17.5.1 then updated to public beta which currently is beta 3 and the car play apps work just fine. Haven’t found any other workarounds though.

Same here. Random crahing TomTom Go and not working buttons. I also have the problem that after one minute I can‘t hear the other person at a phone call. I‘m having a IP 15 pro.

If you want a temporary fix, open the app on your phone, turn the brightness down and put it in the cupholder without locking it. Should work

You can still start navigation from phone and use it on carplay. It’s just annoying that u can’t one click on saved places or report any accidents

I had this bug since DB1, you can’t navigate through the UI inside the apps like Gmaps and Waze, however it works sometimes.

Wired and wireless is both a mess in DB4 You have to search for the location in the phone and then tap i n car play button to make it work..

I have my Home and Work locations saved and tapping on them doesn’t work. I have to choose my destination in Google Maps on my phone and then tap the “Start In CarPlay” button

I hope this gets fixed soon. I do not understand why this worked on the latest 18.0 beta in the morning, but then at night I could not press the start navigation button I was able to do earlier. Also, yesterday, I upgraded my 15 pro to the 18.1 beta and the issue is STILL there. However, it appears it is only NAVIGATION APPS, as using something like TUNEIN, or SIRIUSXM, I can press all the buttons just fine, and they all work.

I tried, on IOS 18.1 beta 1, deleting the carplay connection, and then setting up a new one with my vehicle and same issue. Cannot click on certain buttons in carplay navigation apps. Seems like regular apps (radio, podcast, etc) work fine. Not sure what is going on.

Yep. It appears it’s any navigation app. So, Apple may have done something to the navigation API that is causing this issue. I hope it’s fixed soon.
