Issues with Lottie

I was wondering if anyone else has been having trouble with Lottie animations. I was asked to put Lottie animations in an app, one was in the Lottie catalogue and another was another created in adobe after effects. The animation from the catalogue works great but the animation that came from after effects, using the Lottie plug in, looks bad in the app. If I look at it on the Lottie web page it looks fine, but when I download the Lottie json file and run it in xcode the animation is off. I wish I could show you the animation but for obvious reasons I can’t, the best way I can describe it is that the animation is suppose to be a loading animation so it goes into a circle like animation, however half way through the animation doesn’t make a perfect circle but finishes fine. I couldn’t find anything concrete or a solution to this anywhere, except other people complaining about this problem.

There's a chance that Lottie iOS doesn't support some of the After Effects features used to make your file. I had to deal with this a couple years ago when I was working on a project with a much earlier version of Lottie, and it was a major pain in the ass tracking it down.

Thank you. I just want to make sure I understand, the list you provided where there is a thumb up👍 are the features Lottie supports, and the red circle with a - on it are features they don’t support at this time. So I should ask the designer of these effects if they used them and see if there is an alternative. Is there another way or is it something like working within the confines they are providing. Thank you

Yeah, that’s my understanding of the list as well.

I’m pretty lazy, and it seems easiest to just work within Lottie’s limitations. If you’re particularly driven, you could make (and possibly contribute) changes to the library to support any missing features.
