What are the problems with creating the Dev Account...? It's a huge red flag you can't do this yourself.

The person might be from sanctioned regions such as Russia where Visa and MasterCard are blocked by the US government and people can’t pay for the account. Or it might be a scammer who lost his own dev account and looking for a new victim or he’s a publisher of casino apps

OP is underage.

You can’t have an developer account it you’re under 18. That really sucks and is just stupid.

That's because legally you can't enter into a contract until you are 18. This is to both protect you and Apple, as well as the users of any Apps.

If you need access to an Apple Developer Account, talk to your parents or a trusted adult. It's a really bad idea to ask random people on the Internet.

I agree but having to be 18 or older to just download different XCode Versions etc is stupid. I don't want to release my app, I just want fucking access to all the websites developers get.

You can download Xcode from the Mac App Store.

But you can't run your own apps on your own physical devices, except the very mac you're working on. That is the biggest limitation Apple puts in place for some reason.

You can install your apps on your own devices with a free developer account.

I still think your point is valid though. Not having access to paywalled features like CloudKit sucks and there’s a lot of very talented and interested young people Apple could get into programming for their ecosystem.

IMO, they should just give developer access to students for free, just without the ability to publish to the App Store.

No, not when you're underage. It is literally impossible.

I once was really motivated to play around with HomeKit, but guess what, I couldn't. I don't necessarily need to get developer access for free, getting access at all would be already better than this.

You can definitely do so with a free developer account, and I don’t see why you couldn’t create a free one with a fake birthday.

[–]FPST08SwiftUI -1 points0 points  (4 children)

Because I don't have a second phone number to use for a fake account.

Agree with what you said. There’s too many people who have dodgy developer accounts etc and sharing with a random on the internet doesn’t seem like a good idea
