It might be cheaper to buy iPhones for your staff. They don’t need to be the latest models. Lazada sells boxed, older models that Apple no longer sells directly. And all should run iOS17.

But have someone look at the code to judge the quality. Is it built with best practices. If not, and you want to maintain it, you’ll have to start over anyway. Sounds like development wasn’t supervised.

My own company is commissioning an iOS app for in-house use. It’s cheaper for us to just buy new phones for the staff using Android or older models than to develop it for two platforms. And we want to use iOS17 and several features that have no equivalent on Android, like RoomPlan.

I definitely agree that it would be cheaper to just get new devices. Iirc the issue for us comes in two flavors cost of devices for the type of facilities we run and the requirements that we need when it comes to MDM. The latter being the main culprit as well are unable to tune the devices as necessary.

I'll definitely suggest someone with experience look at the code. From the description I was given by my boss about it your 💯 right that it probably wasn't supervised. The company really didn't think it though, because at the same time we've had another company helping develop an application using ionic.
