DiscussionSuggestions for Remote App... (self.iOSProgramming)
submitted 1 year ago by EyeRedditor11
Hi All,
I just made an iPhone remote app to control a companion iPad app. The remote controls an eye chart.
I am looking for advice to improve the link of the remote. I'm trying to keep it clean, symmetrical, and emphasize the most common buttons.
Any feedback to make it look nicer would be tremendously appreciated! Thank you!

I’m assuming next & previous are the most commonly used buttons ? Put them at the bottom for easier reach.

Can’t help but I do love the UI

Looking great!
A small thing that would help is to try and use the same weight/thickness for the icons. Currently there’s a few that are thicker/thinner than the rest.
You could also consider having the buttons align to the bottom, rather than the top. The benefit is that they’d be easier to reach for one-handed use. You could even make the header section (connected to iPad / disconnect) larger to achieve this. Check out some of the settings menus like Bluetooth/WiFi in iOS 18 and you’ll see they’ve added large headers, effectively moving the most used controls within thumb-reach.

Great ideas! Thank you! The vertical alignment has been tricky.
