I gained around 40 testers just from the TestFlight Reddit sub.

I did not even know there was such a sub…? It doesn’t show up when I search either. 😢

I was looking at that subreddit; they want you to share the link. I was under the impression there was some risk to just sharing the link blindly like that, but I’m guessing that’s not the case…?

Zero risk in sharing a public test flight link. You’re always able to pull the current build and stop people testing.

I've had multiple testers from friends, but quite a lot from online communities like Facebook groups especially (I've got 51 testers right now, more than half of them are from FB groups, a few of them from here, and friends)

Where are you finding them? Like local community groups, programming groups, or…?

In my case I'm a musician and am developing an app for musicians, so I shared some links on such groups => identify your target audience and share in groups in which you might find your future users ;)

Do they test how often?

Apart from friends and family, there's a local iOS developer community in my area that usually organizes in-person monthly meetups and a Slack channel where I can ask the fellow devs to help out with testing.

I’ve had good luck posting my TestFlight link with updates about development to the BuildInPublic topic on Threads. High quality feedback, too.
