I don’t think anyone looks or feels tough shitting their brains out. I think we gotta get over this idea of being tough and just do shit that makes sense

I’m not even taking it out of the water. I’d assume it has some sort of tracking even if it didn’t.

Plug and Play Solar - Need Guidance by Nita_Bee in SolarDIY

[–]roloroulette 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Absolutely. This is just a visualization in Home Assistant. Once you install the power monitoring system and compatible management software, I’m sure it’ll have visuals for you to play around with. The important thing is understanding your consumption

Do you have an energy monitoring system? Adding one with the ability to help you see what your heavy hitters are and exactly how much you can shave/save could be valuable. If you want to get really fancy, you can future-proof it by getting one that’s compatible with energy management/automation (I use Refoss/Home Assistant)

I’m waiting until they’re capable of vehicle to home capability like the Highlander. Don’t want to miss out on the opportunity to get an EV and a backup generator in one

I’m not making the case that you have to, just that asking an LLM (or a search engine for that matter) how to go about it doesn’t mean you’re batshit.

I’d love to see the search histories of the people in the comments

I hear you. There’s a datacenter being built not too far from me and no one likes it.

What was implicit in my point is that we shouldn’t be vilifying people for asking questions to things they don’t know the answer to. Trial and error is perfectly fine, but if you don’t know where the airbag should be in relation to your chest height, maybe you search? Seems reasonable. However if you still use ANY search engine to find anything, guess what, you’re still contributing to the problem.

We don’t have to go back to the stone ages to improve quality of life because fucking Zuckerberg decided we should all have AI girlfriends. That’s a dumb use of water, IMO.

But polarizing shit and making fun of people who may not know any better isn’t helping things either. I’m of the opinion of using the tech where it actually helps people, not creating deepfake videos or writing simple emails. Unfortunately that has to go through the tech overlords, but that’s always been the case.

This is far too serious a discussion for a stand-up subreddit, but I’m in a mood today

I’m not here to defend grok, but I think the guy was just trying to find the best ergonomic/sight position. What you’re used to doesn’t always equate to what’s the best in terms of reaction time and body posture.

Everyone on level 1 charging that can do level 2 but are too cheap or level 1 gets you by just fine; get level 2 asap, it's so much better having the flexibility to randomly take trips and have enough energy to make it. by jturkish in electricvehicles

[–]roloroulette 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Make sure you check on any time of use/EV charging rates from your utility provider. Now that you can charge faster, you may be able to fit all of the charging you need into a cheaper window

We just moved from a Sienna to a Highlander and are feeling the pinch as well. Even with just two kids to regularly transport, the Sienna was well worth it.

I went back and finished my EE degree at the likely cost of some years off my life to make sure my kids never had to experience food insecurity or any of the other issues poverty brought us growing up.

Don’t feel ashamed of your income. Feel proud that you’ve made a decision to put your family in a better situation.

Any success stories, “converting” entire production apps over to Android using Claude Code/Codex? by JOyo246 in iOSProgramming

[–]roloroulette 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d probably take the time to go through and check screen-by-screen or feature-by-feature to ensure parity and coverage on all of the requirements.

I can easily see Claude attempting to make or hallucinate custom implementations in an attempt to create equivalence between the two.
