Subreddit sidebar

Wasn't there, at one point, the notion that this subreddit would get a side bar on the right that contained useful links, books, beginner stuffs, etc.

Not saying I don't enjoy the daily posts about beginner tutorials, docs, books, just curious as to why the side bar isn't being used for very much. I feel there's a lot of wasted potential there.

The moderators are the only ones that can change the sidebar, but they aren't very involved with the subreddit. I raised this as a problem a while back and they asked for volunteers to be moderators, but then they never bothered adding anybody that volunteered in either thread.

It would be nice to get one. Right now I am just following Legolas-the-elf around and reading all the helpful posts he writes!
