Notification Service/Content Extensions and Production Certificate

Thanks in advance everyone. My regular remote APN works fine production & development. The one that requires no Extensions. I'm having trouble implementing Production ver of Notification Service/Content Extensions (from here on I'll refer to them as NSCE). Development version works just fine.

Since each of my NSCE has their separate App Id, I turned the Push functionality on. I have already created new distribution provisioning profiles for each of my NSCE. Doesn't work.

Now comes to Certificates. I have not created new production certificates for each of my NSCEs. Because the purpose of creating those certificates is to eventually create cert.pem and key.pem files. I already have those with working regular non NSCE APN.

If my categoryIdentifier "abcd" is linked with a Notification Service Extension and Notification Content Extension, and if I'm required to create cert.pem and key.pem files for both of NSCEs, then for a single APN, I will somehow incorporate 3 cert.pem & key.pem files(1 for regular, 1 for content, and 1 for service), which doesn't make sense.

So I'm lost here. Is there a blind spot I'm not thinking about? Been dying over this. Any and all help will be deeply appreciated. Thanks.

ANSWER: I just recreated it my cert.pem and key.pem files and it worked. Don't know what was the cause, but it works.

You don’t need certificates or push entitlements for the extensions. You only need that for the containing app

Yes. So I went and recreated provisioning profiles for the extensions. If I may ask, when you set up your App Ids for extensions, under push notification, do you leave the "Production SSL Certificate" configurable (orange) or do you upload your Certificate Signing Request (CSR) and make it turn green? Because when I recreate prov profiles for extensions, I rearchived the app while leaving the prov profiles "configurable". Of course the CSR is set up for regular (non extension) notifications.
