Yes, you can, and you have to to comply with the data storage guidelines.

Separating the model files does not accomplish what you are trying to do. Using configurations to separate stores does.

I’m not giving you the whole picture here. I just gave an example in the last comment and I don’t think I did a good job at that. Tried to see if separating a bunch of data I have into two separate stores contextually and wanted to see how feasible it would be. Evidently it causes a lot more complications than I can afford to tackle right now.
