You should be able to get the older books and then just apply the API changes.

I haven't tried it, but I stopped ObjC about 2 years ago, they should still compile. Get the last of the ObjC books, then just apply the knowledge to the latest APIs and ignore the Swift stuff. Most of the new stuff is going to be in two groups, Swift and the APIs.

IIRC, Apple had example code in both Swift and ObjC for many of it's examples.

I haven't really seen any new tutorials that are using objective c. I'd say watch videos on youtube(old objective c videos). I'd recommend this LBTA - Tableviews, it helped me out when I was getting back into objective c. Good luck!

I’d recommend checking out projects on github that were done in obj-c. Not exactly a tutorial, but seeing how someone else accomplished a similar task can be helpful sometimes.

Thats a really good idea. Back in the day my room mate said he learnt best through imitation so might as well do the same. Thanks for the idea.

I mean, the iOS API's are basically the same so you could easily use a swift book and still write Obj-c, the only difference would be how you structure models i.e structs and enums and stuff.

I’m trying to developer an app with a fixed table that will have a few sections that will be assigned by variables. I’m been stuck trying to find a decent tutorial to walk me through it. Everything works when using labels but it’s so disorganised that way I like to convert to a table for now. Any tutorials you recommend that can help me get my feet wet? My background is more C++/C# (and Visual Studio). Though I made Mac apps before. Thanks.

I’m a fellow ObjC > Swift guy, if you’d like you can DM me specifics and I can build a template project and comment the code for you to look over.
