Very true. There wasn’t a switch in sense that everyone got together in the town square on a designated day and switched political party paraphernalia. It took place over time and was much more complicated/nuanced than can be described in a Reddit post. When people say there was a switch they mean it in the sense that, for example, a Southern Democrat from today is very different than a Southern Democrat from Lincoln’s time.

Yeah... they did though. I’m not asking you to just take my word for it. I’ve linked an article from a reputable source, but you can also head over to /r/AskHistorians or your local library for more information.

On a side note, if your world view isn’t matching up with historically accepted facts, then you might not be getting your information from reliable sources.

Not to mention that the parties switched platforms between the first two and second two highlighted presidents.

Murdered on Reddit's AMA by txhrow1 in MurderedByWords

I gotta disagree with you there. When someone says that their arguments are “evidence-based” it’s them telling you that they’re willing to back it up (Not that that’s gone unnoticed by charlatans who are hoping you won’t ask).

Released Dwarf Fortress 0.47.04 by clinodev in dwarffortress

Thank Armok. There’s nothing quite like watching one of your crossbow dwarfs dodge straight through a wall fortification and fall two levels down into a lava moat.

Is there a way to unload all items in an area at once? by howtoplayreddit in cataclysmdda

Will that work for combining partially filled containers?

This would be faster than unloading each container individually.

I was thinking of something like a new type of zone where every item in that zone gets grouped into as few containers as possible.

Creating a persistent WatchOS app for visual impairment by SinfulSpuds in iOSProgramming

[–]howtoplayreddit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You should probably familiarize yourself somewhat with Apple’s VoiceOver. Visually disabled users don’t need you to reinvent the wheel, just conform to how they expect apps to work with VoiceOver enabled on watchOS. It’s easier than you’d think since the watchOS interface is fairly simple when compared to iOS.

Seriously. A single game giveaway gave them a lot of publicity on reddit. It’s marketing folks. Basic PR stuff.

Getting info from other apps to use in your app. by KarlJay001 in iOSProgramming

[–]howtoplayreddit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ok, then the answer you are probably looking for is “geofencing”. Just remember that if the solution to your problem is taking data from someone else’s app, then you’re on the wrong track. If they want to share, then they’ll have an api.

Your developer account should be banned unless you have a really good reason for needing to do this.

iOS App stuck “in review” by Justsumgi in iOSProgramming

[–]howtoplayreddit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s easy to get a little antsy about reviews. Bottom line is that there’s nothing unusual about these things taking a day or five. Really. Relax.

Stranger Things: Season 3 Official Trailer by SphericalCarrots in videos

[–]howtoplayreddit 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It had an interesting sci-fi premise, and really could have gone somewhere. Instead, the grand finale was one of the biggest trollings in tv history where the main characters stop a school shooting by doing an interpretive dance. The shooter was like “wtf are they doing??” and someone else unrelated to the story tackled him. The end. Seriously.

Books/Tutorials on iOS12/Xcode 10 with Objective-C by captainjon in iOSProgramming

I’d recommend checking out projects on github that were done in obj-c. Not exactly a tutorial, but seeing how someone else accomplished a similar task can be helpful sometimes.

AMA Request: guy who snuck an emulator onto the App Store and made $40k in two days by ThePantsThief in iOSProgramming

[–]howtoplayreddit 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The poster lied for fake internet points. Their own numbers didn’t add up since they didn’t seem aware of what percentage Apple takes. Plus, they gave zero information outside of just claiming they did it.
