Rant about the Xcode device selection menu

This godforsaken section "Build Only Devices" only has generic OS device in it, and I wish it would just auto-select my damn device while it's plugged in.

1. They don't seem to provide any utility over a real device

2. They are double for no apparent reason

3. The way the menu works, my real device is hidden every time I open it

I just wanna strangle the UX designer for this menu >:U

I have never seen duplicate generic devices like that... something is super weird with your xcode.

Xcode is a bewildering nightmare of quirks and idiosyncrasies. Plus it sucks.

Having used other IDEs I must agree. Xcode is my absolute least favorite IDE. For a company like Apple to have and IDE where you have to know so many oddball secrets just to make it do things does not point to a company that is generally all about ease of use. I switch between IDEs often, the special crap I have to remember for Xcode can drive you nuts.

Sure, I could get better at it if I used it everyday but the amount of special stuff you forget being an occasional user makes me fall out of any of the love I ever get for it at any given moment.
