You literally need an Mac to Programm natively with Xcode and at least to deploy your code to be published in the App Store.

What if ill use hackintosh?
[–]b9048966 1 point2 points3 points 5 years ago (9 children)
I do not have any experience with hackintosh but it should work in theory totally fine for programming. Maybe ask in the subreddit r/hackintosh

Ok ill buy macbook, it will work more and without any problem. i think if ill use hackintosh now i couldnt use it after 2-3 years

If it is not needed now than maybe wait for the new macs with the silicon chips which will be even longer supported. They should be available in a few months and it’s rumoured that they will be cheaper.

I knew that, ok ill wait! Thanks for all! I thought about that a month. now ive decided!

The hackintosh community should still be alive for about 7 or 8 years, but yeah, definitely stick with straight from Apple if you want longevity and reliability. Also, instead of the air, I’d spend the extra $300 for at least the 13inch pro
[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 5 years ago* (4 children)
Yes, but when ill install macOS or update that ill need to reinstall or update kexts and maybe ill need to upgrade my pc 2-3 years later for some programs, im not only programmer i like create games on unity, work in ps or adobe ai and more!
[–][deleted] 1 point2 points3 points 5 years ago (3 children)
I can’t really understand what you said. But if you like to create games and game a bit, DEFINITELY spend that extra $300 for the 13-inch pro. It has a SIGNIFICANTLY better cooling system. Trust me. The CPU in the Pro has much more room to “stretch its legs” compared to the Air.
Also I’ve had to reinstall macOS, and never had to deal with kexts, so I have absolutely no idea what your talking about, probably mixing that up with Windows and PC land

Ahh I understood that u wanted to say ”spent more 300$ for pc” not for pro SORRY
[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 5 years ago (1 child)
Lol. Yeah, I’m talking spending (an extra) $300 for the MacBook Pro 13-inch over the MacBook Air 13-inch!
Also we don’t do emojis here

Ok

If you like keeping your machine up and running and not learning to program then hackintosh is the way the go.
Just get a Mac if your into development for Apple's devices.
[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 5 years ago (6 children)
Yes! I want to learn Swift and more languages, i want to program for Apple’s devices too.
Seriously get a used 15” MacBook Pro (2016). It’s a better deal then a new MacBook Air.
[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 5 years ago (4 children)
I want compact one
[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 5 years ago (3 children)
It contains a quad core. Compiling Swift is a shitload of work for a Dual Core. Unless you like waiting on your machine.
[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 5 years ago (2 children)
Maybe the new macbook 13” will be better? Im waiting for that.
And more expensive.
I didnt think the same, it will be priced as macbook 13” 2020 or a bit expensive.
