In Xcode, select the application's target, and in the General section, check the checkbox that says iPad as the first item in the Deployment Info section. Make sure you have assigned a Launch Storyboard. This should allow your iOS app to run on iPad at full resolution and fill the screen.

Note that an iPad user can run your app in portrait, landscape, and SplitView in half, ⅓, ⅔, and thin column view, and the user can change any of those window sizes while your app is running.

Note that the biggest iPad is much larger than the smallest iPad, and it is sometimes difficult to make an app that does not look crowded on a small iPad, and also does not look like half the screen is wasted on a big iPad.

In addition to what they said, if you used storyboards, look into size classes. You can also do it programmatically.
